Downtown Alive! is a 25-year-old community tradition and a popular staple in Acadiana's cultural and social calendar. Downtown Alive! was first produced by Downtown Lafayette Unlimited in fall 1983 and continues with a spring and fall season of free, family-friendly, outdoor concerts each year since. The Spring 2009 DTA! 25th Anniversary Series includes favorites of the past and present with genres representing DTA! favorites from  Cajun & Swamp Pop to Reggae, Rock, Blues & R&B.

Downtown Alive! begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage booths open and serving; music starts at 6 p.m. and goes on until 8:30 p.m. DTA! is a free event sponsored by Lafayette Coca-Cola and Cox by Downtown Lafayette Unlimited in cooperation with the Downtown Development Authority and Lafayette Consolidated Government.

Concession sales help keep Downtown Alive! free, so please leave your ice chests at home with your pets.  All Downtown Alive! information is available on the web at www.lafayettedowntown.org.
