In southern Louisiana, people celebrate the many diverse cultures that makes this area so unique. While predominantly Cajun, Southern Louisiana, has adopted many of these cultures in its ancestry, culture, cuisine and the warm southern hospitality it extends to those who visit the area. Nestled in beautiful Cajun country is the small community of Roberts Cove, Louisiana'a community rich in German heritage. Since 1995, the people of Roberts Cove as well as guests from throughout the country join together on the first weekend of October, and celebrate the German heritage of the area at the annual Germanfest. With any festival, there is sure to be plenty of food and drinks around for everyone to enjoy!
The Germanfest is indeed no exeption! Our festival offers a large variety of German Foods that are linked not only to the German culture, but also the kitchens of many of our residents in the Roberts Cove community.
Our authentic German foods available at the festival follow the receipes that have been handed down from generation to generation. Here is just a sample of some of the menu items
