Piano man and local pop songwriter Hunter DeBlanc kicks off this week’s music schedule with his recurring variety show at the Grouse Room. The Janky Piano Show features song requests, audience participation, and prizes. Celebrated blues guitarist Keith Blair will be on the same stage the following night with his band.

New Orleans-based singer/songwriter and guitarist Eric Lindell returns to Lafayette with a Friday night performance at Rock n’ Bowl. Cajun rockers, the Pine Leaf Boys, are set to play down the street at the Hideaway that same night.

Saturday will see country singer Tennessee Dixon and his roots groups, the LeBeau Troubadours, at Artmosphere while dancehall revivalists Cajun Strong take the stage at the Hideaway. The weekend will close out with a Zydeco at the Rock n’ Bowl featuring accordionist Geno Delafose and his band, French Rockin’ Boogie.

A mix of locally produced pop, blues, country, and French sounds make up this edition of Lafayette Weekly. You’ll hear two steps and waltzes from the Pine Leaf Boys and Geno Delafose and country ballads from Tennessee Dixon. Also included are Hunter Deblanc’s “Back 4 More” and Eric Lindell’s take on the classic “Louisiana Saturday Night.” Several tracks from Dr. Daylight Jazz Co.’s brand new album Potluck close out this week’s playlist with recordings featuring guest vocalists Ray Boudreaux, Sasha Massey, and Julie Williams.
