Memphis-born blues revivalist Cedric Burnside comes through town Tuesday night to perform at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. The multi-instrumentalist is touring in support of his latest album, I Be Trying,  released in June on Single Lock Records.

Zydeco favorite Chubby Carrier will be at the Hideaway on Friday. That same night Cedric Watson and his band Bijou Creole will team up with New Orleans-based bilingual pop outfit Sweet Crude at the Blue Moon.

Local country star Dustin Sonnier will play his mix of originals and classics at the Rock n’ Bowl Saturday night with his group, The Wanted. The weekend will wrap up with a fais do do at the Hideaway with legendary accordionist Paul Daigle.

This week’s playlist will kick off with brand new music from bluesman Cedric Burnside. You’ll hear three tracks off of "I Be Trying," followed by some Creole blues from Cedric Watson. Also in the mix are classic Cajun sounds from Paul Daigle, dreamy festival pop by Sweet Crude, and a couple from country crooner and guitar slinger, Dustin Sonnier. All of that plus some upbeat zydeco by Chubby Carrier and the latest single from Lafayette native Brock Wimberley, entitled “Midnight on Royal Street.”
