Louisiana Crossroads will be presenting Nashville songwriters Jim Lauderdale and Sara Douga. Lauderdale made a name for himself through the years, having penned songs for the likes of George Strait, Elvis Costello, and Patty Loveless. Douga, a native to South Louisiana, recently moved to the Country Music Capital of the World to further pursue her career in music. Lafayette swamp popper (and current Crossroads curator) Roddie Romero is hosting the concert.

The weekend party will get started by Creole accordionist Geno Delafose at Cowboys Nightclub. Local favorite Jamie Bergeron and his Kickin’ Cajuns will take over Saturday and keep Cowboys rockin' throughout the night with their mix of Cajun, modern swamp pop, and zydeco.

Bilingual singer-songwriter Renée Reed and Lafayette-based indie rockers Scenic World will bring their original tunes to Artmosphere on Saturday. A block away at the Blue Moon, that same night, will be rockin’ with Mike Broussard and Nu Edition Zydeko on the back porch.

Recordings by all of these artists will be included in this week’s playlist. You’ll hear Sara Douga collaborate with Crossroads host Roddie Romero, guitar slinger Lane Mack, and Hub City chanteuse Julie Williams. Good timin’ tunes by Jamie Bergeron, Geno Delafose, and Mike Broussard are also in the mix. All of that plus Jim Lauderdale’s “You’ve Got This,” “Use Me” by the Good Dudes, and Renée Reed’s “I Saw a Ghost.”
