Live music is back in full swing this week in Lafayette. The Blue Monday Blues Jam will return to its new location at the Grouse Room on June 14, starting at 6:00 pm. In addition, Blue Moon will host its weekly Cajun Jam on Wednesday night, and accordionist Kevin Naquin will kick the weekend off at Cowboys.

Chris Ardoin and his band will be at Grant St. on Saturday night. If you want to zydeco and can’t make it out on Saturday, you’ll have a couple of options on Sunday. Beau Bayou and Sabine Connection will play the Bal de Dimanche at Vermilionville from 1:00-4:00 pm. Geno Delafose will be keeping the dancers busy at Rock n’ Bowl later that day, starting at 5:00 pm.

In this edition of Lafayette Weekly, I’ll be featuring the music of Chris Ardoin along with the other artists mentioned above. You’ll hear his classic radio hit, “Stallion,” “Goin C Chris” from his latest live album, and a throwback track from his band Double Clutchin’. Also in the mix are good-time tunes from Geno Delafose, Beau Bayou, and Cajun accordion hero Steve Riley, who's celebrating a birthday this week.
