Ray Boudreaux and his band will kick off this Independence Day weekend with a performance at Rock n’ Bowl Friday night. Local news reporter and Zydeco accordionist Gerald Gurenig will share the stage at the Blue Moon Saloon with Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. that same night.

On July 3, you'll see the return of Feufollet with their first public show in over a year with a dance at the Hideaway.

Guitar slinger Julian Primeaux will host this Uncle Sam’s Jam at Park International, with pre and post-show tunes provided by DJ RV. Kelli Jones and company will continue their weekly country music tribute series with a tribute to Texas Troubadour Willie Nelson and his legendary Fourth of July picnic parties.

I’ll be featuring music by the artists playing this weekend on this edition of Lafayette Weekly. You’ll hear soul sound from Ray Boudreaux, modern Cajun from Feufollet, and some classic Buckwheat Zydeco. Also in this mix are some rockers from Julian Primeaux and a couple of classics by Willie Nelson.
