Givers vocalist and percussionist Tiffany Lamson teams up with local chanteuse and pianist Julie Williams for a set at the Acadian Superette this week. The new duo dubbed the Sha Hearts will be this week’s guests for the Hawk’s Boil Up music series on Thursday evening.

This weekend sees the new Grouse Room downtown importing two New Orleans favorites. Funky jam band Flow Tribe will take the stage Friday while revered keyboardist Jon Cleary and his Absolutely Monster Gentlemen will come to town on Saturday.

Zydeco man Corey Ledet will be at the Hideaway Saturday night performing material from his brand new self-titled album. The next night will be a birthday celebration for accordionist and bluesman Major Handy and a special guest, swamp pop legend Warren Storm.

This week’s playlist is a soulful mix of South Louisiana sounds. You’ll hear Tiffany Lamson with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Julie Williams dueting with country rocker Lane Mack, and Corey Ledet’s new single, “On A Roll.” Also in the mix are a few from Jon Cleary’s extensive discography, some accordion blues from birthday boy Major Handy, and the Bobby Charles penned “I Don’t Wanna Know” by Warren Storm and the Lil’ Band o’ Gold.
