There's plenty of great local music to catch this week in the Hub City, with some of the biggest names from
Our area scheduled to play.

Grammy winning fiddler Michael Doucet will be featured for Café Vermilionville’s Courtyard Concert Series Wednesday evening. Doucet will be accompanied by guitarist Chad Viator and bassist Chris French as a stripped down version of their new progressive Cajun group, Lâcher Prise.

Local blues guitar great Keith Blair and his band are set to play the new Grouse Room Thursday night while Dustin Sonnier will bring his classic country sound to Rock n’ Bowl Friday night. Upbeat zydeco from Chubby Carrier will be on the same stage the following night.

I compiled a genre jumping playlist of tunes by the artists mentioned above for this edition of Lafayette Weekly. You’ll hear Chubby Carrier’s new single, “What You Did Last Night,” fiddle shredding on Beau Thomas’ “Perrodin Two Step,” and Dustin Sonnier’s recent regional hit, “Missin’ You Mississippi.” Also, a few from Lâcher Prise’s debut self-titled album, and some twangy numbers by Yvette Landry.
