Due to Hurricane Delta, Festivals Acadiens et Creoles rescheduled their first-ever online event. The virtual edition of the festival will now take place on October 16 through Sunday, October 18. Their lineup and schedule will remain the same as it was originally set.

Cafe Vermilionville will host Jourdan Thibodeaux and his Rodailleurs bandmates, Cedric Watson and Joel Savoy on Wednesday evening with a concert in their courtyard. The late Ray Abshire's annual Thursday night Festivals Acadiens kickoff fais do do will now be a tribute in his honor featuring many of his collaborators like fiddler Courtney Granger, Lost Bayou Rambler Andre Michot, and son Travis Abshire.

Downtown Alive's streaming season continues this Friday with Lake Charles born zydeco accordionist Rusty Metoyer. That same night, the Rayo Brothers will bring their acoustic Americana sound to the Hideaway on Lee.

All of these artists are featured in this week's playlist. You'll hear updated recordings of swamp pop favorites like "Heaven Sent," by the Foret Tradition, modern zydeco from Rusty Metoyer, and a couple of down-home waltzes from Ray Abshire such as "Fais Attention," featuring Courtney Granger on lead vocals. A couple of tracks showcasing Joel Savoy's fiddle skills are included next to songs he produced for Jourdan Thibodeaux and Cedric Watson.
