There are several options to enjoy live music in person or virtually this week in Lafayette.

Local rock n' roll duo Sick Ride team up with funk and neo-soulsters Sailor Mouth for a double bill at the Grouse Room Thursday night. The former River Ranch venue recently opened its doors at their new home on Jefferson St.

Rising Cajun stars the Daiquiri Queens will perform their unique repertoire of good time two steps and beautiful waltzes for this week's online Downtown Alive! on a Friday night. Contemporary Louisiana French fiddler Jourdan Thibodeaux will also provide his brand dance tunes this weekend with a performance Saturday night at the Hideaway Lounge.

Rock'n'Bowl will live stream and open its doors to a limited crowd this week. The downtown entertainment center will host swamp pop preservationists the Foret Tradition and Acadiana's top country crooner, Dustin Sonnier.

I compiled an eclectic mixtape of including all of these musicians for this edition of Lafayette Weekly. You'll hear tracks from the Daiquiri Queen's recently released debut album, belly rubbin' covers by the Foret Tradition, and barroom country from Dustin Sonnier and the Wanted. Jourdan Thibodeaux's "Cher Créole" and "Vas T'en" are also included in the playlist alongside Sick Ride's galloping "Don't Hold Your Breathe," and Sailor Mouth's funky "Take My Love."
