You can expect soulful covers of legends like Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, and other classic R&B singers from Lance Dubroc, who will take over the piano duties at Charlie G’s Thursday. Kevin Naquin and Cajun Preservation will provide plenty of two-steps and waltzes for the dance scene that same evening at the Hideaway.

Zydeco man Brian Jack rolls in from Texas to play Cowboys on Friday while local favorite Jamie Bergeron and his band, the Kickin’ Cajuns, play the same stage on Saturday. Troy Richard and the Richard Revue bring their brand of folk rock to the Blue Moon Friday evening. Rocker Julian Primeaux is scheduled to perform at the Hideaway on Lee Saturday night, while Zach Edwards and the Medicine will be over at the Grouse Room.

As per usual, the weekend wraps up with plenty of dancing. Cajun trio T’Monde will provide the sounds for Vermilionville’s Sunday afternoon dance. GRAMMY award-winning accordionist Chubby Carrier and his Bayou Swamp Band will finish off the weekend of fun at Rock n’ Bowl.

This Lafayette Weekly Playlist is filled with blues, Cajun, country, rock and zydeco. You’ll hear “Gotta Be Me” by Brian Jack, Jamie Bergeron’s take on “Havin’ Fun,” and “South Crowley Waltz” by T’ Monde. All of that plus tracks by Julian Primeaux, Troy Richard, and a few new songs by the late Brother Dege, whose final album, Aurora was released last Friday.
