Copeland is a contemporary blues, roots and soul singer who’s been belting beautiful music since she was just 8 years old. Growing up in Harlem, New York, she sang with her father at local clubs and started touring with him at the age of 16. With a voice that is alternately sultry, assertive and roaring, Shemekia’s wide-open vision of contemporary blues, roots and soul music showcases the evolution of a passionate artist with a modern musical and lyrical approach.
