With Festival International just around the corner, Lafayette is already buzzing with musical excitement. Fret not because this week will have lots to deliver with a little bit of something for everyone.

Singer/songwriter Carolina Chauffe, better known as Hemlock, returns home for a captivating performance at the Blue Moon this Tuesday evening. Joining the former member of Shrugs on the Back Porch Stage, promising an evening of laid back melancholy melodies on Convent St.

Moving into the beginnings of the weekend, get ready to groove with the legendary bluesman Major Handy at Bach Lunch this Friday, accompanied by the soulful Sharona Thomas as a special guest. Rock n' Roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd make a stop at the CAJUNDOME
later that evening as a a part of their Sharp Dressed Simple Man tour.

On Saturday night, Sick Ride invites you to celebrate the release of their new album Lover's Ballroom at the Feed n Seed, promising an energetic night of crunchy guitars and groovy beats.

But don't put away your dancing shoes just yet! Sunday brings a double dose of zydeco with the Jewel of the Bayou, Leroy Thomas, and his band at Vermilionville's afternoon dance. And if you're craving some more two steps and waltzes, don't miss Zydeco Outlaw Step Rideau as he rides in from Texas to rock the stage at Rock n' Bowl later that afternoon.

From the soulful sounds of the Louisiana Gulf Coast and elsewhere, this week's Lafayette Weekly Playlist has something for everyone. Tune in to catch the latest singles from local garage duo Sick Ride and Canadian folk rocker Andrina Turenne. Feel the rhythm with a recent Zydeco shuffle in Louisiana Creole by Corey Ledet. And of course, don't miss the indie folk vibes of Hemlock and Leah Graeff, alongside timeless tracks from classic rock legends ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
