Every month the African American Heritage Foundation invites the public for the Creole Rendezvous, a free event in Heymann Park. Along with a miniature trail ride and farmer's market, there will be music provided by Gerald Delafose and the Zydeco Gators. The grandson of accordion legend John Delafose, Gerald keeps his grandfather's sound alive with prairie styled two-steps and waltzes, mostly sung in Louisiana French. The July Creole Rendezvous is this Saturday, the 21 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

In this week's playlist, I included songs from garage rockers, Carbon Poppies, Colombian Champeta band, Tribu Baharú, and a couple from the local indie quartet, Scenic World. I also added tracks from Gerald's album, Can't Make U Love Me, as well as a few classics from John Delafose and the Eunice Playboys.
