Who better to represent the Hub City than Roddie Romero and his all-star band? Brand USA, the international marketing arm for tourism in the United States, is filming a music themed promotional video highlighting what makes our city worth a visit. With their self-described "Lafayette sound," Roddie Romero & the Hub City Allstars play a special free show as a quartet this Tuesday at the Blue Moon Saloon.

From Cajun two-steps to bluesy, swamp pop ballads, I compiled a list of songs that showcase Romero and his band's eclectic sound in this week's playlist. Along with some selections from the group's last two albums, I threw in some tracks from Clifton Chenier, Bobby Charles, Los Lobos, and Aldus Roger, who are among the group's biggest influences.

Also included on our Lafayette Weekly playlist are tunes from the dreamy indie-pop duo, People Museum, Terry and the Zydeco Bad Boys, and local rockers, Brother Jac.
