Although we won’t be able to catch any live shows for the time being due to COVID-19 that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy some local music. I put together a mixtape of some personal favorite songs by artists from Acadiana for this edition of Lafayette Weekly.

You’ll hear the King of the Cajun Accordion, Aldus Roger’s “O.S.T. Special”, dreamy indie ballads from Brass Bed, and hard-hitting soul from Lil’ Bob and the Lollipops. Also in the mix are overlooked gems like Johanna Divine’s “Been Gone Awhile” and Tommy Mclain’s take on ABBA’s “Another Town, Another Train”. Several tracks from the recently unearthed early 70s power-pop LP by Lafayette born psychedelic rockers Zuider Zee are included as well.

Stay safe and stay home! Soignez-vous!
