The Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival began when the placid port at Morgan City and Berwick received the first boatload of jumbo shrimp, fresh from the deepest waters ever fished by a small boat. Now more than 70 years later people come from all over to celebrate the working men and women of both the seafood and petroleum industries with live music, plenty of food as well as activities for the whole family. The Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival, the world’s largest Zydeco and LaLa music festival, celebrates the spicy culture of Louisiana Creoles by highlighting, documenting, preserving and enhancing their rich heritage. This year’s event is on schedule to be better than ever with performances by Chubby Carrier, Lil’ Nate and Nathan Williams as well as plenty of food to fuel your dancing. Louisiana Comic Con is back for another year of bringing together a diverse list of guests, vendors, artists, and fan groups. This year’s event will welcome a list of vendors, panels and special guest such as Sean Astin from The Lord of the Rings and Goonies fame and Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts. The event starts at 10 a.m. each day and admission is $25 for single day tickets, $40 for weekend tickets. $5 per day for children ages 2-10. For a complete list of events click here.

Now in its 24th year Tinsel & Treasures gives attendees a truly one-stop shopping experience for all of their holiday needs under one roof. The categories of boutique-like shops include jewelry, food, gifts, toys, home décor, apparel and much more! To date Tinsel & Treasures has successfully raised more than $4.7 million that has been invested in the Lafayette community through community programs benefiting women and children in Lafayette. The Bayou Round Up showcases the fantastic music, food, scenery and culture of Louisiana combined with a great big gathering of incredible hot rods, custom cars, artists, vendors and more along with some of the best live music onstage with Zydeco Radio and Curley Taylor.
