This event is Organized by S.G.N.A. and dedicated to the Goals of Sterling Grove Neighborhood Association: to educate the public, promote, preserve, revitalize and develop Lafayette’s first National Historic District and neighborhoods: Sterling Grove, Snodgrass Addition, Nickerson and Parkerson. All proceeds are used for the above goals of the non-Profit 501(c)3, SGNA.
Sterling Grove is the first National Historic District in Lafayette, with beautiful Antebellum, Victorian, Greek Revival, homes and mansions. Amazingly, many people in Lafayette do not know this beautiful area of Lafayette. It is deeply rooted in our city's history, and has been the home of many founding figures of Lafayette. One of our main goals is to educate the general public about our district and continue to preserve the urban forest we live in. STERLING GROVE IS THE HEART OF LAFAYETTE !
The plan to build of an elevated highway in replacement of the actual Evangeline Thruway (I-49 connector) could irreversibly damage a large portion of our historic district.
COME ONE. COME ALL. BRING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!
