Dr. Kevin Gaither, PhD in English, is a published poet. Songwriting was a natural extension of his art. In 1998, Kevin noticed his fine motor skills were degrading and playing guitar became difficult to the point where he sought medical attention to find out what was happening. The news 20 years ago was not good. From that fateful day Kevin has been living with Parkinson’s Disease.
Because Kevin was unable to sing and play, session players were hired to perform for the first CD of what will become a 5 CD anthology set of his songs. The songs are a mixture of different genres highlighting the breath of Kevin’s creativity.
This lead to the production of Kevin's second album Cartunes, as Kevin pushes forth in his pursuit to share his love of music despite his physical challenges. However, this also came with a price- the cost of production and the assistance of his loyal team of musicians. On behalf of Kevin, we ask for your support. To support Kevin's passion for music, despite his daily struggles due to Parkinson’s Disease.
On Thursday, November 29th, Warehouse 535 will host a special fundraiser for Kevin's second album, "Cartunes" featuring a performance from Kevin's support band. Should you be inclined to donate further, a GoFundMe Campaign is linked below. With your donation, at a minimum of $15, you will receive a complimentary ticket to a special musical performance highlighting Kevin's work. Doors open at 7pm.
