Dates: November 2, 2019
Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
The community is invited to join us as we celebrate our annual Native American Culture Day. Representatives from many of Louisiana’s Native American tribes will be on hand throughout the village to celebrate their living culture through craft and food demonstrations, music, dance and cultural exchange. Admission to this family-oriented, educational experience is FREE.
This year’s activities will include traditional Native American dancing and drumming performed by various Louisiana tribes as well as demonstrations like beadwork, weaving, basket making, pottery, tomahawk throwing, and flint knapping. Activities for children will include storytelling and an arts & crafts station. Those attending can enjoy canoeing and Bayou Vermilion Boat Tours throughout the day as well as an exhibit, a lunch buffet from La Cuisine de Maman, beverages and more.
