Friday, March 31, 2023 | 7PMSt. John's CathedralTICKETSacadianasymphony.org/concerts There is no greater transformative turning point for classical and modern western music than the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the music written to celebrate it. Experience this Lenten-themed concert the way it was meant to be experienced - amongst the grand architecture and exquisite acoustics of one of Lafayette's most iconic buildings - St. John's Cathedral. ASO will be joined by guest artists Andrea Kapell Loewy and Rachel Ciraldo, on flute, as well as the Louisiana State University Chorus, to bring the audience a vibrant musical celebration of spring renewal and Easter. The performance will include Bach’s Cantata No. 4, which he wrote for Easter in 1707. Bach, who was employed most of his life as a church organist, wrote more than 200 cantatas during his lifetime, which were critical in the development of both vocal and instrumental music, and are considered to be some of his best work. Join us for a truly magnificent Bach Experience! TICKETSacadianasymphony.org/concerts
