In 1981, fearful that Creole and zydeco music were dying out, a group of concerned citizens organized the Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival. Today, the event features the best in zydeco in addition to some swamp-pop, swing, R&B, and southern soul artists.
Saturday, Sept 1 - Zydeco Breakfast
The Annual Zydeco Breakfast is Saturday morning, hosted by the City of Opelousas. Bring your lawn chair to enjoy live entertainment in a relaxed and charming setting in the heart of downtown Opelousas. Last year’s breakfast included Bloody Mary’s, coffee, Clifton Chenier Casserole, and pancakes.
