On March 7, 2020, the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra will perform a breathtaking concert featuring choreographed images provided by Lafayette Travel and YOU projected across a huge screen above the orchestra in collaboration with multimedia artist Nicholas Bardonnay.
This artistic event will capture the spirit of Acadiana through the eyes of locals paired with Copland “Fanfare,” Thomson “Acadian Songs and Dances,” Dvorak “New World Symphony,” & Liszt “Preludes”. With your help, the imagery will feature photos of Acadian people, life and nature to create a truly unique local story.
Words are not enough to describe all there is to love about Acadiana which means we need your pictures to show what we have to offer. From community celebrations and family events like festivals and crawfish boils to the breathtaking sceneries and histories of the South and the people you love that hold stories of resilience and beauty. As locals, photographers, artists, and advocates of this city we call home, your pictures are what we need to help orchestrate the story that is Acadiana.
Submit as many photos as you would like – both newly created as well as ones you have already shot or inherited. These photos could be anything from a specific location like an attraction, restaurant, gallery, street or even something like your favorite public art, mural, performance, festival, and event. It could even be as simple as a picture of you with your friends, archival photos of Acadiana’s history, family portraits, or pictures from your past. The sky is the limit!
The winners selected will have their photo be part of the collage that's on display during the performance. In addition, all winners will receive tickets to the performance.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, December 20.
