A central source for events in Lafayette Parish

Lafayette Travel and CREATE are launching a community calendar with the goal of creating a central source for events taking place in Lafayette Parish. The calendar is currently live and can be viewed by visiting LafayetteTravel.com/Events.

The calendar allows the user to navigate between events happening that day, week, month, or a specific date range, as well as the ability to browse featured events in the area. The events display can also be narrowed down by interest if, for example, someone just wanted to view live music in the area.

Lafayette Travel has populated the calendar with annual events. It will also continue to include events from local venues and attractions that happen weekly. We are encouraging any venues, attractions, and event organizers to submit their own events by visiting LafayetteTravel.com/Events/Submit and filling out the submission form.

"Our events calendar is a popular tool for visitors to find out what his happening in Lafayette Parish and Acadiana," says Ben Berthelot, President/CEO of Lafayette Travel. "By partnering with CREATE for the community calendar, we are hoping that our partners and the community will work with us to ensure their events are uploaded. It is very user-friendly, and we know it will be of great value to locals and visitors to our area. It will also help us serve as ambassadors for these events to help promote on our social channels and word of mouth through our Visitor's Center. It's a great partnership to serve a need, and a win-win."

"In every meeting we've had about CREATE in Lafayette Parish, citizens always expressed a need for a centralized events calendar to increase awareness and promotion of all of our rich cultural assets and events in the parish. This calendar is a critical project for us to better find and participate in events while also allowing for a single place for the many organizations and event coordinators to submit their event and receive the greatest visibility. Lafayette Travel was a fitting partner to multiply the impact of our investment and building this tool for the community and visitors alike," said Kate Durio, Chief Cultural Officer, Lafayette Consolidated Government.
