T'Frere's House

Lafayette’s European history dates to the arrival of Acadians (Cajuns) between 1765 and 1785, followed by other immigrants and African-Americans settling in the area. Naturally, there are many historic homes in the region, several of which open their doors to visitors as bed and breakfasts.

Eight lovely guest rooms await visitors to the turn-of-the-20th-century T-Frere’s House Boutique Bed & Breakfast on the west side of town, while Maison Mouton in the Sterling Grove neighborhood dates to 1820 and named for plantation owner Charles Mouton, son of Lafayette founder Jean Mouton. Louisiana Cajun Mansion Bed & Breakfast is elegance in nearby Youngsville, and the owners speak French!
