Lafayette Travel, along with the Lafayette Parish Bicentennial, is excited to present the Taste of EatLafayette Bicentennial Celebration taking place Tuesday, June 20, at the CAJUNDOME Convention Center from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $20 and can be purchased online by EatLafayette.com/Events, or at the CAJUNDOME Box Office during business hours.

"We are excited to be back for year 19 of promoting locally owned restaurants in Lafayette Parish through the EatLafayette campaign," says Ben Berthelot, President & CEO of Lafayette Travel. "The Taste of EatLafayette kickoff is always a big highlight of the campaign, with the opportunity to sample many of our best locally owned restaurants in one setting. This year, we look forward to our partnership with the Lafayette Parish Bicentennial to look back at Lafayette's culinary history and honor the area's oldest restaurants in what should be a very memorable evening."

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a sampling of EatLafayette restaurants from the various dining districts in the area, along with music by Gerald Gruenig & Gentilly Zydeco. Gerald will also serve as emcee for the evening's ceremony celebrating the culinary history of Lafayette Parish, honoring some of the oldest restaurants in the area. Restaurants that will be honored at the event include Keller's Bakery, Borden's Ice Cream Shop, Poor Boy's Riverside Inn, Judice Inn, Alesi's Pizza House, Ton's Drive-In, Hub City Diner, Poupart's Bakery, and Laura's II.

"The Lafayette Parish Bicentennial is pleased to partner with EatLafayette to celebrate our parish's historic restaurants," says Sami Parbhoo, Lafayette Parish Bicentennial Coordinator. "Lafayette Parish's culinary scene is known worldwide for its flavorful dishes you can't find anywhere else, and we'll be able to celebrate the cultures and restaurants that created those dishes at the Taste of EatLafayette event."
