Ingredients: 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1/4 cup sliced tasso 1/2 cup minced onions 1 tablespoon minced garlic 3 tablespoons cane syrup 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon yellow mustard 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce 1/2 cup beef broth 2 cans pork 'n' beans, drained 3 slices thick cut bacon Directions: 1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. In a saute pan heat oil and brown tasso. Add onions and garlic; cook for 2 minutes. 2. Add cane syrup, brown sugar, yellow mustard, salt, hot sauce and beef broth; cook for an additional minute. 3. Place pork and beans in casserole dish. Stir in onion sugar mixture until completely incorporated. Top with bacon slices. 4. Place in oven and bake for 40 minutes uncovered. 5. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
