The Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission (LCVC) has re-earned the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) seal from Destinations International in recognition of the organization's commitment to industry excellence and meeting the industry standards for performance and accountability of destination organizations around the world.

“We are pleased to recognize LCVC for successfully achieving reaccreditation through the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP),” said Don Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International. “The industry distinction defines quality and performance standards for destination organizations, and I am proud to recognize LCVC as a long-standing member of the DMAP community.” The accreditation program requires a destination organization to successfully comply with a set of rigorous mandatory and voluntary standards that span a variety of performance areas to gain this momentous achievement.

The standards cover nearly all aspects related to the management and marketing of destination organizations, including governance, finance, human resources, sales, communications, destination development, and research. LCVC is one of nearly 200 destination organizations that have obtained DMAP accreditation.

"We are honored to receive reaccreditation through Destinations International’s Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP),” said Ben Berthelot, President & CEO of LCVC. “In 2008, we were the first Destination Marketing Organization in the state of Louisiana to be accredited, and the standards needed have continued to rise since that time. I’m proud of our team for this achievement, which reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence, accountability, and industry best practices.”
