Lafayette Travel is pleased to announce the 2023 Heritage Clubs International (HCI) Annual Conference will be held in Lafayette, Louisiana, from February 27 to March 3, 2023. Bankers, tour operators, and destination marketing organizations from across the country are expected to attend the five-day conference taking place at Home2 Suites by Hilton.

Heritage Clubs International is an Association of Bank Clubs formed in 1980 and has a membership of over 150 independent community banks in 32 states across the country. All of these banks have the opportunity to meet annually at a conference called the Heritage Clubs Annual Peer Group Conference. This year that conference will take place in the heart of Louisiana’s Cajun & Creole Country, Lafayette, Louisiana.

The conference will include sightseeing tours of Lafayette Parish and the surrounding areas, a business appointment marketplace, peer-to-peer and banker-partner networking sessions, education sessions, business appointments, innovative seminars, and an award and recognition ceremony.

“Heritage Clubs International is very excited to be bringing our Annual Peer Group Conference back to Lafayette February 24 – March 3, 2023,” says Ted Nelson, Executive Director of Heritage Clubs International. “We were last in Lafayette in 2009 with many fond memories. In the past 30 years, we have only returned to the same city twice! Our Bank Club Travel Directors will explore the region on the pre-FAM tour and during sightseeing activities; they will taste the incredible Cajun cuisine; they will dance to the beat of Cajun and Zydeco music; and they will LEARN its storied history of the Acadian and Creole people. This will allow them to return to their local communities to bring their own group tours to the Happiest City in America!”

“This is another major win, and we look forward to welcoming Heritage Clubs International to Lafayette for their annual conference in 2023. Having these tour operators from across the country in the parish and region for an extended period will allow us to share the great food, music, and culture we are known for,” Ben Berthelot, President, and CEO, of Lafayette Travel. “I always say if we can get people here for the first time, we have them hooked, and there is no doubt that this exciting opportunity will lead to future group tour business for the area.”
