Lafayette has been named a finalist for Medium City of the Year in the 2026 JRNY America Awards, an international travel industry awards program recognizing destinations and experiences across the United States.
Lafayette has been announced as one of eight destinations selected as a finalist in the category. Other finalists include Boston, Chattanooga, Denver, Kansas City, New Orleans, Scottsdale, and Washington, D.C.
“Being named a finalist alongside destinations of this caliber is a tremendous recognition of the work happening throughout our parish and across Acadiana to create meaningful experiences for visitors,” said Ben Berthelot, President and CEO of Lafayette Travel. “Our culinary traditions, culture, music, outdoor experiences, and our community continue to set us apart. The JRNY America Awards highlight destinations and tourism organizations that contribute to the visitor experience and showcase the diversity of travel across the United States. The 2026 awards received a record number of entries, with finalists selected through a judging process involving an expanded panel of travel industry professionals.
The winners of the 2026 JRNY America Awards will be announced during an awards ceremony on October 2 in London, England.
