Lafayette Parish will host the USSSA National All-State Championship from July 28 through August 2, 2026, bringing top youth baseball players from across the country to the region.
The event features athletes ages 8U–14U who have been selected to represent their home states on All-State teams. The individual-player showcase highlights elite talent in a national competition format, rather than traditional team-based tournament play.
“Lafayette is an outstanding host city with a strong baseball culture, excellent facilities, and a community that truly embraces the game,” said National Director of Baseball Steve Hassett. “We are proud to partner with the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission to deliver an event that not only highlights elite talent on the field but also provides a first-class experience for players, families, and fans.”
The event is expected to generate significant economic impact, including an estimated $4.4 million in total business sales, more than 700 jobs supported, and approximately $171,000 in local tax revenue. Organizers also project about 5,400 hotel room nights during the weeklong event.
“This is another incredible win for the area and a testament to the collaboration that exists between all of our stakeholders, as we will be utilizing 60-plus fields throughout the parish and region to host the event,” said Ben Berthelot, president and CEO of Lafayette Travel. “The event was held in Indianapolis last year, and Indianapolis has hosted the Final Four, the Super Bowl, the NFL Combine, and many other large-scale events. For us to follow in line by hosting the event is a wonderful opportunity that will put us on the map once again in a positive way.”
“Lafayette Parish is proud to welcome the USSSA National All-State Championship to our community. This event represents the very best of youth athletics—talent, discipline, and teamwork—and we are honored to showcase our region on a national stage. Beyond the competition, this championship delivers meaningful economic impact for our local businesses and highlights the strength of our partnerships across the parish. We look forward to providing an exceptional experience for every player, coach, and family who visits Lafayette,” said Lafayette Mayor-President Monique Blanco Boulet.
Games will be played at multiple facilities across Lafayette Parish and surrounding areas. Each participant is guaranteed five games, including pool play and bracket competition.
