Lafayette Travel is excited to announce that Lafayette, Louisiana, has been selected as the host city for the 2025 International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA) Convention. The convention will welcome esteemed travel writers from around the country for an immersive experience in one of the South's most unique and culturally rich destinations.
Throughout the convention, which will take place from October 12 -14, 2024, attendees will participate in a range of activities, tours, panels, and exclusive tastings. Additionally, they'll have the chance to explore the area's live music scene, historic sites, and unique landscapes, creating an experience that reflects the true essence of Lafayette Parish.
"We are thrilled to explore Lafayette's culinary, cultural, and diverse musical scene in welcoming Louisiana style next October during IFWTWA's 2025 Professional Development Conference," says IFWTWA President Cori Solomon. "From Cajun & Creole food and music to the outdoors and historic culture, our members will fully immerse themselves in everything Lafayette has to offer."
"We're thrilled to welcome IFWTWA to Lafayette Parish next fall,” said Ben Berthelot, President & CEO of Lafayette Travel. This convention is yet another opportunity to capture a significant amount of earned media for the area. We will continue to see the impact for years to come through relationships made and future stories and content about the area."
The IFWTWA Convention has long been a prestigious gathering, providing writers and content creators a platform to network, learn, and deepen their understanding of diverse destinations. By hosting the event, Lafayette Travel aims to generate valuable media exposure, increase visitor engagement, and foster greater awareness of the city's attractions and local businesses.
