LCVC continues its longstanding role in welcoming Louisiana’s top student-athletes to Acadiana

The Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission (LCVC) is proud to announce that Lafayette will once again serve as host city for the 2026 Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) State Golf Championships, continuing a tradition that has made Acadiana a premier destination for high school championship events for more than a decade.

Scheduled for May 4–5, 2026, the State Golf Championships will bring Louisiana’s top high school golfers, coaches, families, and fans to Lafayette Parish, generating significant economic and community impact while showcasing the area’s championship-caliber golf courses and hospitality.

For more than ten years, LCVC has worked closely with LHSAA and local partners to successfully host the State Golf Championships, providing coordination, lodging support, visitor services, and destination marketing that enhance the overall championship experience. Lafayette’s proven ability to host large-scale sporting events has made it a trusted home for this prestigious tournament.

“Lafayette has a long history of welcoming student-athletes and their families with true Lafayette hospitality,” said Carl Toups, Director of Sports Business Development for LCVC. “Hosting the LHSAA State Golf Championships year after year speaks to the strength of our facilities, our community partnerships, and our commitment to delivering a first-class experience for competitors and visitors alike.”

The 2026 championships will be played across four premier golf courses in Lafayette Parish:
•    Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club – Girls’ Division I & II
•    The Wetlands Golf Course – Boys’ Division I & III
•    Cane Row Golf Club – Boys’ Division II
•    Farm d’Allie Golf Club – Boys’ Division IV

These venues offer challenging course layouts and professional playing conditions that highlight the skill, dedication, and sportsmanship of Louisiana’s student-athletes.

In addition to LCVC’s hosting efforts, the 2026 championships will feature enhanced tournament operations through a partnership between LHSAA, the Louisiana Golf Association (LGA), and The Kelly Gibson Foundation (KGF). Their involvement will bring added expertise in tournament administration, course setup, certified rules officials, live scoring, and media support—further elevating the championship experience.

Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission looks forward to welcoming teams and spectators from across Louisiana and showcasing Lafayette’s unique blend of sports facilities, local dining, cultural attractions, and community pride.
