Travel Blogger Conference to take place October 12-14, 2022

TBEX (Travel Blogger Exchange) has announced Lafayette, Louisiana as the host destination for their 2022 North American Conference, taking place October 12-14 at the CAJUNDOME Convention Center, with travel bloggers throughout the United States expected to attend. TBEX is the largest conference and networking event for travel bloggers, online travel journalists, new media content creators, travel brands, and industry professionals. Each year, TBEX partners with a host destination in North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific to bring together the travel industry’s most creative minds to learn, network, and do business.

“We chose Lafayette for several simple but important reasons. We know this will be the first time many of our attendees have visited Cajun & Creole country, and they will be overwhelmed by how much this city has to offer. The CAJUNDOME Convention Center perfectly fits our community's tech-centered culture of travel content creators. Lastly and most importantly Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission truly understand the impact of travel bloggers and how important this shift to new media is for their city. We think they are a perfect destination organization to showcase what TBEX is all about,” Rick Calvert, CEO & Co-founder of New Media Expo and TBEX.

“It will be a tremendous honor to host TBEX in October for its North American conference. TBEX has been held in fabulous destinations worldwide and having Lafayette Parish added to the list is another prestigious event for our area that will put us on the map once again. In addition to the room nights that the conference will generate, the most important part of having these bloggers in town will be tens of millions of dollars in earned media that it will generate in positive press for our area for years to come. Previous cities that have hosted the event, such as Huntsville, AL received over 41 million in earned media as a result of the conference,” said Ben Berthelot, President and CEO, Lafayette Travel.

“Travel bloggers have the power to influence other travelers, and by sharing their stories, they’re showing the world the one-of-a-kind experiences Lafayette and Louisiana have to offer. Ben Berthelot, and the team he leads at LCVC, had the foresight to see the long-term effects of hosting a conference of this magnitude. I congratulate them on winning the bid against other cities bidding to host,” Mayor-President Josh Guillory.

“We are thrilled to welcome the TBEX North America to Louisiana in 2022 along with the hundreds of travel bloggers and online travel media that will be attending,” said Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “While visiting, attendees will get a taste of all the ways you can Feed Your Soul with Louisiana’s unique culture, delicious fresh seafood, one-of-a-kind music, and beautiful outdoors. And as the home of some of the friendliest people in the world, they can expect the warm welcome you’ll receive only in Louisiana.”
